Those floors hit hard. I wanna do similar to mine, rip out all the white (why white?!) carpet out of the bed rooms and bathrooms (why would you do that?! Yuck!) And just go hardwood like that.

I wouldn’t be happy with that PC sitting on the carpeted floor when you have a perfectly good table to the right.

Sup, I’m your local friendly USDA contractor who very much uses scales everyday. Consumer grade kitchen scales are terrible and will lie to you. The fact that it does not go out to the tenths or hundredths is a big flag for accuracy.

We check test our scales twice a year to make sure they are accurate. I once tried check testing my kitchen scale I use for canning for giggles and it failed miserably. It would only register weight on 2 out of 4 quadrants until I got to 10g or so. I’m sure my ohaus is going to show a different and more accurate result if I where to try it.

USDA contractor here, we use metric on the scales we use day to day.

Yeah America fucking knows logistics. I worked at a non profit and our warehouse where we would store donations would become quite the mess during garage sale season. We had a squad of US Army Reserve logistical something or another who basically work in warehouses volunteer for the day so I went ahead and gave them the task of organizing and cleaning up the warehouse, a task I thought would take them a few hours. I go on my 30min lunch break and I come back to 5 dudes standing around and a warehouse so clean and organized that you could eat off the floor.

Hard disk drives will last even less. The lubrication will dry up and the disk will seize way before the 25 year mark.

Bluray is a fine back up media, I use them for stuff on my NAS that I cannot lose like precious pictures of family and friends. Not all of us live on am abandoned salt mine with perfect temperature and humidity for long term tape storage.
