There are even some reading guides depending on what sub-genre you are interested in if you don’t want to read the whole cannon. They all standalone pretty well though.

Yes it does. You can derive the domain from snooping DNS lookups but the URL is part of the encrypted get header.
Yes training is the most expensive but it’s still an additional trillion or so floating point operations per generated token of output. That’s not nothing computationally.
So I may be biased but what is vmwares USP? From my limited experience it was a slightly more polished GUI for creating VMs and the ability to run on older pre-virt hardware. Is the experience still objectively better than the alternatives?
For a moment I thought you were referring to the genlock anti piracy device. That was a fresnal lens you held up to the screen to decode a key to continue the game.
I certainly agree with a lot of that analysis. I also worry how signal continue to fund their app sustainably without compromising their users.
It’s well worth reading the longer newsletter the above link quotes: https://www.wheresyoured.at/sam-altman-fried/
I kinda agree we are probably cresting the peak of the hype cycle right now.
I’ve heard of people waking up with accents but I’m not sure I’ve seen any cases where they speak an unfamiliar language fluently.
If you limit yourself to media created only by authors that past your particular purity test your going to have a very narrow view of the world. There is a reason the HP fandom is popular and I don’t think it’s because it’s because it’s made up of budding transphobes.
All the centralisation in podcasting is the content delivery network (where ads are placed for the commercial ones). Where the feed is hosted it’s fairly irrelevant.
What’s wrong with the software? They are client web devices and with crostini you can develop at a pinch. But they aren’t meant to be laptop/desktop replacement.
Now I’m all for smashing atoms and the LHC did a grand job with the Higgs. However are we sure just smashing things harder is going to be as revelatory as other things we could spend the money on? What other grand physics instruments could we build? For example LISA will be a massive step change in our gravitational detection capabilities?
Maybe it would be better titled track of the year?
Do albums have a connective theme between the tracks compared to say a collection of hit singles?
I’m an August baby so was the youngest of my cohort going into uni and while I’ve done ok I do wonder if I’d have done a bit better academically if I hadn’t been so distracted by all the other things on offer to a independent 18 year old.
There are a fair number of YouTube creators who post ad-free versions of their content on Nebula. I think I got Nebula as part of a curiosity stream sub which last I checked was pretty cheap compared to the other streaming services.
Some sort of orbital death beam? I seem to recall a 2000ad story around a space energy beaming facility that goes horribly wrong.
For range it doesn’t add much in most cases. But it also depends on how long between journeys you have. If you’re traveling in a van and you are going to be stationary for a few weeks at a time then it can start to make sense, maybe with an extra fold out.
