Lemmy wasn’t built for privacy. It was built to combat censorship and they are not synonymous. Again, imo hiding any sort of public engagement or impressions is just more censorship.

My answer is yes to the original question. I speak with my votes, my comments, and my engagements. If I wanted to be separated in anyway from this I would just use an alt. Hell though, I even gave up on having a porn alt on twitter and I just own it if I like something. 🤷‍♂️

What are people’s thoughts on MetaGER? I started using it when I switched over to librewolf web browser and I really like the base free option, it looks like they have a monetization model but I haven’t looked into it much.

I tried SearchXNG a couple of times but it never stuck. Ashamed to say but google is still used as a backup a lot of time.

This should be front and center, caching won’t be able to make up for that…

Secondly, I think it’s more important what they did to achieve this goal, locking down the API behind a paywall was their way of creating value in their data. They knew then that it would be too expensive for independent developers to pay for but didn’t care. They knew the money would be coming AI data brokers.

YouTube ReVanced, smarttube next, and I think peer tube though I haven’t used that one, all working wonderfully on android tablets, phones, and chromecast with google TV. Also, I am having 0 issue using Firefox and ublock/sponsor block on the computer.
