LG have started sending some bullshit major updates to both of my TVs recently. The whole “home” interface is now sluggish and full of video heavy garbage I don’t want to see. They are still better than some smart platforms (looking at you Vizio, Samsung, and Roku), but I am far less pleased with them than I used to be.
I’ve owned multiple Sceptres and the only thing that ever broke for me was button related (on both the remotes and TV itself). You’d think buttons would be a solved problem, but I’ve owned three of those TVs because of the price (SmartTVs were not universal then).
That all being said, the displays themselves are mediocre and the speakers are weak and poor quality. The quality is probably right in line with the price, but if you’re coming from a higher end TV, it will be noticeable. I always had to use speakers or a soundbar to get acceptable quality sound, the display you get used to pretty quickly.
Assuming Sceptre still makes dumb TVs by then, I’ll probably switch back to them when mine either die or LG crosses some red lines.
I’ve used some CRMs with features like this, but at least in one of them it only existed because I had to create it when we had a contact jump from one important client company to another and it confused everyone.
A good cross platform user friendly client goes a long way, especially having a good desktop version.
Preach on, Arena was amazing at the time. The “wall” spells to make and destroy walls were super powerful and pretty unique in RPGs. I also liked the “simple” ADND2 style spells (e.g. RNG value * level fireball). Daggerfall was better in most every way other than bugs, but Arena was great. It’s hard to go back and play it though, it would need to be totally remade which might kill a lot of its charm.
Stop saying sad and probably true things! We need another 2D Zelda.
I did as well, reminds me of the early Saga games (Final Fantasy Legend series on Gameboy in the US).
I feel like I enjoyed the first two more than any afterwards. GTA 2 was an exceptional LAN game.
I also never found the Aeron comfortable on my back, though I also saw tons of them break in our office which seems weird and not a common experience. The most comfortable office chair I’ve owned was from HON. It was their “pillow soft” high back executive chair. I still have mine after several years, but I had to transition to a mostly standing desk recently, so I’m not using it currently.
This was in FL too, this guy walked the walk I guess.
Sadly all the branches have one at the schools. I made the mistake of taking the ASVAB test in high school to get out of class, scored well and was hounded by all of these guys. The marine recruiter showed up at my house carrying a CRT TV/VHS combo to try and convince me to join lol
Sorry to dig up this old reply, just saw it. The original Model Ms were also buckling spring over membrane, you’re thinking of the Model F. And yes, you can get replacement membranes from Unicomp for older Model Ms.
The 90s Scooby Doo cartoons were pretty awful cash grabs and a far cry from even the first, what 3-4 Scooby shows. Everything from Scrappy Doo until the 2000s reboot (Mystery Inc, which my kids LOVED) was junk.
I can only imaging this is a truly dedicated TF2 player that brought his love of hats outside of that war themed hat simulator.
My expensive vinyl double hung windows in my previous house actually had a casement-like feature and I could easily remove either part. I loved those windows; I wish I could have taken them with me.
It might actually outlast your Model M. The membranes on the Model M seems to be the thing that has died for me (after like 20+ years mind you). I frequently still use my Leopold from 2009 and its rock solid.
Preach. Daggerfall was the first PC game I got on release. It was the buggiest game I have ever played, and I loved it. Morrowind was such a shock in size and complexity reduction that it took me a while to like it. In retrospect, especially knowing how the following games went, it was great, cliffracers aside.
Spot on. I used to run a second PSU for my peltier cooling back in those days when overclocking. PSUs were also not nearly as powerful as they are now. 300w was average.
We would microwave them for a few seconds to see “the quickening”
