I freakin love this website so much. It’s been a really tough week and I just laughed out loud at a minimum of 12 posts in a row.

Sounds silly to say about memes but thank you genuinely everyone who’s posting on Lemmy ❤️

This is why I started posting in the first place. I was having a shitty time and wanted to help others not have a shitty time. Everytime I see a comment like this you give me a big old smile. Thank you buddy <3

This health bar is accurate. My gf has a 13 year old 80 pound yellow lab (who used to be even bigger when he was younger).

His name is Doug and I am serious when I say he is an utter tank for being a 13 year old, large dog. His back hips are going out and he is very unsteady on them which which is normal for an elderly large dog, but his solution is one I have never seen an elderly creature choose, he just makes sure not to slow down enough for his back end to catch up and cause any problems.

Got to go down steps? Just send it at full speed and whatever happens in back will stay happening in back and not come up front, no problem. People see Doug all the time and have the knee jerk reaction he is extremely frail and in pain because of the way his back hips sag (and how unsteady he is on them) which is understandable but as they keep watching him and thinking “he is about to fall over and collapse any second!” he just keeps going and going and going.

Doug operates his body like it is a stolen sports car.

Doug also is obsessed with food and I think it might be the secret to his absurd healthbar, most elderly creatures including humans have trouble eating enough to keep on weight and stay healthy. Not Doug, this is not a problem Doug has any experience with. You might as well ask a fish what not being thirsty is like, it just doesn’t make any logical sense to a lab like Doug.
