I’m not going to pay for Spotify either. Music should be a federated platform where you can purchase music directly from the artist and not pay massive corporations like Spotify, Google, or Apple for the luxury of doing nothing.

I mean if GPM or Spotify weren’t garbage I’d pay a reasonable amount a month for one, supporting the artists is nice and all but it’s not why I don’t pay for these services.

I fucking hate Spotify. I forgot why until I tried it again recently. I typed in a specific song, and it showed the song picture and everything … but then started playing a completely different song instead! If I wanted to play a different song, i would have typed that one instead!

Google maps decided to take me to Sheetz instead of Wawa, tbf there wasn’t a Wawa nearby but it just started navigating instead of telling me that, I would accuse them of having a preference but it’s the reverse in the play store where if you search Sheetz the Wawa app comes up first as sponsored.

I still use and prefer Pandora even with the ads. I like to have radio stations though to discover new music.

A federated plattform without capital would never get as big, because they dont have the resources to attract more customers via offline ads, apps and better product development.

Just being the best or fairest platform is not enough to be successful.
