    Just curious. Is this a real thing in the west where teens curse at their parents like that? Like… Where’s the empathy?

      Yeah. A lot of people let their kids do whatever they want and call it loving them. It’s not pretty.

        I mean… I’m all for freedom and all that, but if ur kid feels it’s alright to curse at you (or anyone for that matter), ur parenting needs some revising.

      I started being comfortable cursing in the presence of my parents when I was a teenager, but I don’t know if I ever cursed at either of them. Certainly not in malice, but maybe in teasing or something. But for me personally this is far from normal.

      Unfortunately it’s even considered normal. Granted there is a lot more too it than bad parenting. Like alienation and the realization that the current status quo sucks ass and there’s “nothing they can do about it” but bad parenting is a huge part of it.
