A regular trial is targeted at the judge and the jury if there is one. Most trials are long, slow, and most people wouldn’t want to watch them. The purpose is to find a verdict.
A show trial is designed to then take that verdict & the information from the first trial and repackage it in a way that appeals and is easily understood by the general public.
