A coma? Sleeping? A technology cleanse? I’m not sure I understand the intent behind the question.
Sleeping comes closer. OP asks the real life equivalent of being AFK which, assuming you’re normally regularly online, only really corresponds to being high or sleeping.

The funny thing is, it didn’t occur to me how vague my question was until after I posted and started seeing the replies. That’s made it more fun tbh, and interesting as in this context (online vs. in real life) I’ve not really thought of being online in such individualistic terms as this and some other replies suggest.
Haha. That’s the neat part, coming across points of view you haven’t thought of before! People really do get high in a lot of different ways and be “offline” in a a lot of different ways. LOL

Whatever you do outside of work. That’s real life not whatever you do pay for your real life.
High
…nonexistant?
The Matrix - it’s so IRL you hit an integer overflow on the server running IRL.
AFK
You could think of it in terms of time: online is the exception, while IRL is the default state. Then, what would be the most default state in normal life?
I think awake and sleep could form a pair like that. Being awake takes more time than sleeping, so awake would be the default state. You could also think that various other altered states of mind could be the exception instead of being asleep.
Being high as a kite and being sober form a dichotomy similar to that of being online vs. being IRL.
Appreciate the reply! It’s a cool way to view it in individual terms. I was thinking in more social terms, however, which I’ve been a little fascinated to find seems to be a little atypical from the replies so far.
Oh, that’s a fun new way to look at it. So, if we say that IRL is less social and boring, wehereas online life is more social and fun, then we could compare that with normal workdays and parties.
