But couldn’t that be a sign that the Tories have completely fractured, so many of the hard right Tories went over to Reform?

I admit I am viewing this as an outsider, but as I’m a dual citizen, I am trying to keep informed.

Yes definitely, but that’s still a problem, I doubt the Tories would be willing to keep failing electorally just because of Reform.

Some of the far-right Tories like Rees-Mogg have said they think they basically need to copy Reform to win back those voters, possibly even absorbing them into the conservative party, and Farage seems very willing to do that.

That makes sense. Considering how I may be on that side of the pond next year if the elections here are going the way they sound like they’re going, I am trying to get as versed as I can in contemporary UK politics, so I appreciate the information.

I’m in the exact same boat, lol. Just been paying attention since the train wreck that was Liz Truss.

“Disrupter”… Yeah, we need to stop using that word. He’s as much part of the establishment as the Tory members he’s helped replace.

His party is a corporate entity, and we’ll see how he gets on niw that he legally has to file his financial interests.

The typical playbook is lie until caught, shield oneself with lawyers as long as that works, get a light sentence or none due to being rich, and then tell one’s electorate the whole thing was politically motivated persecution.

Of course I’m still new to UK politics, maybe the rouble has a different conversion rate here.

He did disrupt the Tories and thus the whole country. He managed to get Brexit done without even being elected, and even precisely in the way he wanted (no-deal Brexit, the hardest of them all).

Doesn’t mean that he’s not establishment.

Something I’d love to see made a thing: whenever you see him, just walk by and say “fuck off, Nigel”. No more, no less - but if everyone starts to do it… 👍
