IIRC he took a second mortgage on his house to fund it. He also has a cameo in the movie.
Harrison and Eric Idle were good friends, and Harrison even appeared in Eric Idles Beatles parody movie.
He helped out with Withnail & I too.
I’m not a Beatles fan, but George Harrison was a genius and a hell of an artist. I really wish he were still with us.
