Totally agree. We need to be less like them. We don’t need gimmicks. Let’s focus on the content, and a decent community. Kind of like Reddit before all the avatars, chat features, gold, followers, etc… After all, those features were only added to Reddit to make it sell.
I think followers and chat are a good idea because I could follow my friends and share memes directly to them through Lemmy rather than have to download and share it externally. But besides that yeah

Also snoo is lame AF. I really hate those avatars.
I just like the cute avatars and think something similar would be nice on lemmy.
