So, here in a few days I’ll be going to niagara falls with my mom. Apparently my dad is in an uproar because we’ll be going across the rainbow bridge. Named in 1939 for the rainbows made from the waterfall. Bigots gonna bigot, even when it has nothing to do with anything.
My dad started falling down the hole with Rush Limbaugh in the late 90s. Downward spiral into right wing shithole media ever since. Now he’s old, single for decades, been hospitalized for over a month, and is indicating he’s sad that I don’t talk to him often anymore and that he’s lonely.
It’s a long game, but sometimes you have to distance yourself from someone behaving awfully before they can realize the error of their ways. It can literally take decades.
