I think that this drawing makes really effective use of Directional Economy. Nearly every element in this drawing builds and reinforces a strong structure of horizontal and vertical elements, so that the diagonal elements (judiciously kept to a minimum) stand out and draw the eye (the two legs of the deer that create a stable base, and the neck of the deer craning towards the ground). :)
Haha, well I feel like you have a good feel for ways to make art interesting. Like how you wouldn’t necessarily have to know the academic term to instinctually make use of the principles, and such. :)
