Again, the negative space is super clear, readable, and the pose is strong. I appreciate that even when your composition and scene are simple, you make use of another principle of art to make the drawing shine somehow. I also like the faint construction lines on the fencer’s chest that visually communicate how their chest is thrust out, as it helps sell the thrusting action of their arm and foil.
Unfortunately, I later realized that the legs should have been positioned in exactly opposite directions, because a fencer usually lunges forward when throwing a thrust. So I included the baton. Oh well, accidents happen 😅
