This is a puzzling scene. What happened here? What are they digging up? Are we in Egypt? Why has Saturn appeared in the sky? Are its moons damaged? What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?
Great, evocative (and provocative!) scene with a really pleasing sense of scale and composition. :)
I also liked the second version better thematically. I would have liked to set the scene at night, but I was worried it would be too dark. I’d like to give it a try, though.
Yeah! I understand the apprehension that comes with making those sorts of irreversible creative decisions, but the only way to really know what to do is to just try it and see! And maybe accept that it may not turn out as well as you’d hoped, at least on the first try. :)
