  • Yes, but people forget about this often and still have social stigma against thrash men. Good luck saving lives by moving the thrash to a giant pile called the landfill(or thrash dump). Can’t save lives without engineers building the tools. Can’t save lives without funding. Can’t save lives without everyone involved. Yet it’s doctors that get idolized as if it’s the perfect and only right path in life.

It’s a complex subject. Have to break it down to smaller pieces.

Being a doctor is glorified because there are huge benefits attached. Especially when you think about the benefits for the people around them, such as family and friends. Not to mention the fact that sounding smart can make others feel inadequate in a doctor’s presence. Knowing you are a doctor means that you know how difficult it was to reach it. However, as you mentioned, it is not as beneficial for the individual. Instead, it is beneficial for society, friends, immediate family, and the rich people. Rich people are more emotionally invested to save their ass than leaving an area that got more dirty, bad food, poor service, or painless transaction. With a doctor, he is the only one who you can rely on to save your ass. So no shitting on those jobs makes no sense, but it does make more sense why some are not getting anyone talking shit about. It’s a different extreme, one where there is a lack of shitting on a doctor vs. other jobs.

  • I am highlighting a limitation. Also, I never saw them break up fights by being able to “carry” or restrain players away from each other like other sports. It’s much harder to do on the ice. A lot of times, the linesmen are mostly separating the players by strategically intercepting between the players’ line of sight by pushing in between the players. On top of that, the players have enough sense that they should not hurt an official, especially when it’s not advantageous back when it was the meta to have brawlers. However, there were moments when the players ignored the linesmen interception and kept going. Small example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yDkNvuuENwo

Also, I’m not saying the league wants more fights. They want to control those fights because they are profitable for entertainment, IE the fans and surrounding community are entertained by the drama. Having a fight break out for no reason other than to cause harm was not fun or much for entertainment. However, talking smack or telling someone off for bad plays/manners is fun to see.

  • On your point about practicality. I think a big point about not breaking up fights is that they are on ice, which is slippery, and they won’t have a good grip on the ground, and on skates so not the most solid footing. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m just saying it’s not a worthwhile risk when both hockey players have full gear vs. a ref with minimal gear.

Plus, the context of it being accepted as part of tradition weighs on why it’s not as heavily regulated. If they wanted to, officials can force teams to be disqualified or ban players. Another point is It is more profitable to allow fights. Unless players themselves argue to ban fights for their safety, this will likely stay legal. The fact is, the new meta of having a good team but able to rough up the opposing team is better than it was before. Also quite a bit more enjoyable too.

Another forgotten factor is the higher amount of carb(even if the ratio of carbs vs. protein and fats are similar) has also contributed to lower T levels. Albeit not as dramatically, but every little factor is adding up. More T levels are not gonna hurt you(or reduce testicle size) if other biological systems and genetics can take in higher T levels.

Tbf, games were easier to create using in-game functions and logic that was created for another game. Modding a whole rework was easier than making the entire game from scratch. Undeniably lethal company is similar in look and feel but it has better game play than some mods.

  • At some point, i did what you said and stopped judging the kid for how they are. It was mostly from the sadness of knowing the world they will have to explore, as adults, a world that will be extremely competitive and aggressive. I wanted to shield them from it all and make them live a stable, happy life. At least until they start becoming more independent. Eventually, we all have to let them live their own life.
