I guess it makes sense considering there was absolutely no abuse of power going on?

Hint, you should be sad more often.
Yeah, but you’re saying this about somebody who has committed that very sin, of condemning Biden because of disagreement on a hot button topic. Who then turns around and begs for help when the predictable happened. Isn’t that somewhat hypocritical?
Israel: The best defense is a good genocide
I’m a former reddit default sub mod. Thousands of comments on the top posts. No, naive text filters contribute nothing to moderation. Anybody who is in any way incentivised to cause trouble isn’t blocked, so all it’s doing is catching unintentional stuff (like couLSDon)
It sorta works well enough for most
Wut. Naive text filters have pretty much never worked for the intended purpose, ever.

It was more along the lines of ‘Haven’t they figured out it doesn’t work by now, and looks stupid?’. It’s not just capitalism, even FOSS software like lemmy implements it as I pointed out. It’s akin to tying game speed to FPS - something that didn’t age well, and devs should really know better by now.
How have naive text filters survived this long? Even new software like lemmy still implements them for some reason.
The phrase “your body, my choice” appears to have made its way offline, specifically into schools. Young girls and parents have used social media to share instances of offline harassment. They include the phrase being directed at them within schools or chanted by young boys in classes.
On Facebook, the phrase “your body, my choice” is currently trending, with 52,000 posts in the last 24 hours. One parent stated: “Today my daughter was told three separate times on campus ‘your body, MY choice.’ The third group of boys told her to ‘sleep with one eye open tonight.’”
Oh yes, no argument there. That’s my entire point, in fact.
Warning: Unpopular opinion coming up
This is a ridiculous metric. They measure carbon emissions not just by what the billionaires are consuming, but by what their investments (businesses, factories, etc) are producing. This is akin to the world blaming China for their grossly inflated per capita emissions, while conveniently ignoring that it’s actually being consumed by other countries and it’s just shifting numbers around.
There are plenty of legit reasons to hate billionaires, there’s really no need to be making up new questionable ones that can be torn apart.
Do you have a better alternative, you lemming?
Pretty sure that’s how it should be working on any UI.
What makes you think he’s an idiot as opposed to lying through his teeth?
- ‘It’s difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on not understanding it’
Is that not how it currently works? I was under the impression that’s how it works for me at least. What behaviour are you seeing?
By the same logic however, mods would have no power to actually moderate. Their moderation ability is directly proportional to their potential for abuse. And I think we can all agree we’ve long passed the point where communities are able to survive without moderation, at least in their current form (which is what OP is discussing).
Is this the artist’s first attempt at speech bubbles? Jeez
Huh, this is the first time I’m looking at the sidebar and seeing that detail. From the name I always just assumed it was a sub to call out mods for abuse of power.
