  • Strictly speaking in most countries, it isnt. But an argument can be made that “the vast majority wouldnt be aware that this was against the law” Prosecutors can always elect not to file any charges or lay fines, the courts can always elect to be lenient and not impose any penalty especially when theres any lack of intent or harm. If she had knocked someone down riding it, that would be a different story.

The law will not reference ridable electric suitcases specifically but “motorised ridable vehicles caipable of speeds in excess of 10km/h or with a rated power of more than 500W” (for example) to prevent people from saying “Its not a motorcycle officer, you can clearly see its a suitcase”

  • Now I’m not American but I did read something about this before but I’m quoting from memory… huge grains of salt to be taken with this.

Essentially I believe you can report it as “other income” not specify a source and refuse to elaborate if questioned or plead the 5th if it goes more serious. So in a way you are protected. They have to PROVE you got the money from committing a crime… “I’m just a lucky gambler”. Im pretty sure Whitey Bulger used to pay 30% more than a winning lottery ticket was worth to people so he could cash the ticket and justify his wealth.

I cant imagine the FBI are trawling tax returns, but if you hit their radar for some reason it will probably flag you as someone to be looked at. Just remember, tax evasion is how they got Al Capone but money laundering is also a crime so which one would you rather fuck with?

  • Its apparently a good thing for people suffering from depression too. You get up and make the bed immediately. Not only does it discourage you from crawling back into it and laying there all day, but you started the day with 1 productive act. If you follow that with showering, brushing your teeth and getting dressed thats 4 productive things in a row first thing in the morning.

  • I know its an old post but years ago I saw a therapist who advertised “Quit smoking therapy” where he just encouraged you and talked about the thought processes involved in quitting. Sounded like hokey bullshit but my then girlfriend now wife booked me an appointment after I failed to quit again and this was a topic we covered.

Im heavily paraphrasing but “They say quitting smoking is really hard, but let me ask you ‘Who benefits the most out of you thinking its really hard?’ The only people who want you to think quitting is really hard is the people selling you cigarettes, because who wants to go do really hard unpleasant shit? I sure as hell dont. So take that “Really hard” mindset and put it aside, its still unpleasant. But we do unpleasant every day, we get up and go to work and thats all quitting smoking is… its work.”
