Schizophrenic people are very likely to do this. I work in mental health and this was mentioned in our training. At my location maybe 1/3-1/2 of folks wore one or more puffy jackets all summer long.

I don’t think you’re going to find much concrete evidence on what China does in secret to disappeared billionaires. It probably varies. Some combination of prison, house arrest and re-education are certainly likely. Most guesses probably say more about the poster’s thoughts on China than about China itself.
Incidentally, I desperately wish we could just shove musk in a secret prison for a few months. The amount of power he has is itself a threat to democracy, even if he wasn’t personally a dangerous lunatic.

We produce enough food for everyone and still let people starve - equal access to AI is even harder to justify than equal access to food.
I’m a hard determinist, so I’d disagree with the “you choose” part, but basically I agree.
You are whoever you are in the moment, there’s no fake self to hide behind and no real self lurking unrealized.
There’s no core real you, no true deep down self.
We’re social mammals and the immediate social situation were in is one of the many factors that determine our behavior from moment to moment.

Yep! In my experience it’s awful and it stays awful for ever.
But just like with going to work, over time you come to accept that existence is suffering.
It’s not clear why. It could be an issue with being able to accurately perceive your own temperature, it could be a comfort thing, it could be that they’re more likely to want important possessions to be harder to steal.
So either medical, emotional or social. 🤷
