I do agree, but my experience with fundie women (Christian women who “know their role”) is that yes, there is point where they are victims of this system of belief, but they will NOT think twice about using their proximity to power to victimize/bully/subjugate others, whether it’s people of color, lgbtq or anyone not in their bubble.

The book store near where I grew up had a section with all these types of books. When I was young, I went out of my way to check them out because I was fascinated with ufo’s and conspiracies and wanted to buy one. I remember flipping through a few books and it was all pure word salad. I was like, how am I supposed to learn about all these cool supposed theories when they’ve all lost the ability to command the English language let alone some sort of coherent narrative thread.
You’re right, investment in infrastructure has rebounded, but its easy to ignore the hard fought battles and just be cynical. But also things aren’t perfect and our priorities can be better. For me that’s investments in health care for all and making higher ed cheaper.

I know we saw issues with local deaerships durring the pandemic and supply shortages, but I’m not a fan of vertical monopolies. Most, but not all, dealerships gauged at the time but I think we would see price gouging on an even larger scale if we allowed for direct sales.
