  • Ok here is my tin foil hat conspiracy that involves the reason for the Iraq war and Deep Water Horizon. Ok so America went to Iraq on behalf of oil interests, ranging from opec to US oil companies. Ok here we go, so Iraq was flooding then global markets with cheap black market oil to India, China and France. This caused gasoline prices to be lower across the globe as there was always oil to go around introducing an artificial surplus. After the start of war the surplus started disappear and global oil markets stabilized from no longer having a surplus countries and companies had to now buy oil from manufacturers raising the price as there’s a cap on how much oil can actually be produced. This of course meant gas prices in the US (and I assume abroad) would have to go up. When Deep Water Horizon happened the administration saw an opportunity to then raise gas prices to actually what it should be. After conversations moved on from Deep Water Horizon the US government just hope people wouldn’t notice that the price of gas was never going to come down again to what they were before Deep Water Horizon happened. And that is how deep water horizon is connected to the invasion of Iraq.

  • I’m assuming you’re talking about the live action movie and I would agree. I had such high hopes for it and they (Hollywood) dropped the ball. I think it’s also a lack of understanding the source material and trying to adapt something to have a wider audience and western audience. When you involve those two things you know you’re going to be kind stepping in it. That being said I do think the props and effects done by Weta Workshop really were definitely highlights of that movie. They far exceed the casting and story. I would love to have it redone but Hollywood is gonna Hollywood and at the end of the day they (Hollywood) will shit all over source material if they think it’ll make them a buck.

  • I think they’re talking about the live action version (2017) version. But I agree the 1995 Ghost in the Shell animated movie is a fantastic movie. Funny thing is in 2008 they did Ghost in the shell 2.0 which add some cg to the original, it’s been a while since I’ve watched it, so I don’t know if they reuse the same animation from the 95 version or animated new stuff I really don’t remember to be honest. But ya oh 1995 animated Ghost in the Shell is amazing I was actually planning on rewatching it this week. (I did rewatch it and it’s exactly as good as I remember it.)

  • Honestly why won’t he leave the EU is simple. He gets money from the eu for projects that he can give to his cronies gets a kick backs from them to line his pocket. All while being able to use the EU as a scapegoat in Hungary when people don’t see improvement in their quality of life. Orbán can point at eu regulation and say, “look this is why your life isn’t improving” to the Hungarian people all while not actually doing much on his own to improve their lives. Orbán just wants to continue to hold his position and make money. He’ll shit on the eu all day long because it plays well with the majority of Hungarians all while getting a pay day. The eu does try to hold him to task from time to time but it really isn’t that effective. He’s rigged the game in his favor in Hungary so I don’t see change coming to Hungary anytime soon.

  • In addition to that have you seen how difficult it is to vote if you’re a Hungarian national Living out side the country. Or if you are in the country during a vote and your id card says you live abroad you can’t vote locally but have to vote abroad. He’s rigged the game so him and the Fidesz party can live fat and everyone else that lives there just gets by without any real improvement to their life. Dude played the game and stacked the deck in his favor and I honestly do not know how change can come to Hungary. Even if he is no longer in government or passes he would just be replaced by one of his cronies.
