Residency is almost just a hazing ritual for gatekeeping . I honestly don’t think it makes doctors better. However, residency is not new, but the building doctor shortage is. My primary care physician of 20 years just retired early because the corporation that bought out his office was pushing him to take so many patients for such little compensation that it just wasn’t worth it.

Just wait for what’s coming. The ACA set us up for monetization of healthcare on steroids, and it’s just about to hit critical mass. I think anyone engaged with the healthcare system today can see the enshitification accelerating.

Except they were two different claims. “Some guy named Jesus existed”, and “Some guy named Jesus was a street preacher”.

Some version of Jesus absolutely existed, since is was a pretty common name. Street preachers were not uncommon either, so it’s very possible that there was one named Jesus.

The real debate about whether Jesus existed is whether any of the biblical stories are at all accurate. There is No reason to think they are.

The Airbender movie was an amazing accomplishment of sorts. It somehow managed to completely suck in every single dimension a movie can suck in. Casting, direction, acting, fighting, pacing, dialog, special effects, practical effects, and wardrobe were all complete disasters.

It works the same for capitalism. I’m in the camp that says neither pure capitalism nor pure communism are systems that can realistically exist at all. In one system, the government usurps the power of capital and in the other capital usurps the power of government. They both end up totalitarian by different paths.

I’m libertarian, but that gets confusing since in America the right wing has twisted the definition beyond recognition. Libertarianism started as a left wing philosophy that uses the power of government and democracy to protect individual freedom from both government and capitalist tyranny.
