This is a hard one because I generally try to play good games these days, and good games either get popularized through word of mouth or Youtubers make video essays about how they were misunderstood at the time. For me, this question is really asking “Hey what weird trash did you find back when you were 10 years old digging through the bargain bin for whatever you could trade two games you finished for.”

I think my big picks from the weird trash are The Urbz, which comes from back when they made Sims spinoff games instead of endless DLC, and Ty the Tasmanian Devil, which was a 3D platformer metroidvania that revolved around collecting increasingly elaborate boom-a-rangs. I definitely sunk the most hours into the Urbz, because nothing was more fun to a 10 year old than going around a virtual town flipping people off.

No land would be returned, no settlements removed, but Hamas’ forces would be decimated to the point they could not fight back and Israel would return to their quiet slow genocide until the stars align to renew their attack once more.

A Trump win doesn’t suddenly give Israel carte blanch to build the gas chambers, they still have to pay lip service to international law. Israel will inflict a grievous wound on Hamas, deep enough that it will take another generation before conflict resumes, and go back to expanding their settlements.

This genocide has been happening since before I was born, and multiple Democrat presidents have had an opportunity to say something or work towards curbing Israeli aggression. They’ve all vaguely promised to work towards a two-state solution, knowing that the current two states are what they want. If Kamala Harris couldn’t even call it a genocide, then she was no different, and it would be foolish to think she would actually take any steps towards meaningfully stopping Israel.

Hey I was raised exclusively by the YouTube algorithm, and I came away from it with a deep appreciation for animation, an incredibly stupid sense of humor, and a sexuality on the spectrum of “Yes, please.” It can’t be the only reason!

Don’t think it won’t happen to you. When the incoming wave of Ukrainian refugees hits Europe, the populists that have already been growing in popularity will make their move. With the U.S. fallen, a lot of money and attention has been freed up to destabilize other countries.

I know there were some rumors that the game might get re-launched free-to-play, but I feel like that was just going to cause Concord to flop twice. The game already had a free open beta that nobody played, relaunching now would just be throwing more good money after bad.

It’s a shame to shut down the studio though, especially when none of it seems like their fault. They delivered the shitty overwatch clone corporate asked for, and now they’re going to lose their jobs for fulfilling the brief. Meanwhile the dumbass execs who wanted Concord get to keep failing upwards.

DE absolutely rules. In an era of constant enshittification, it’s so nice to have a dev that is actively, constantly working to improve the player experience. From consistent bug fixes and engine optimizations, to little additions like reworks of old frames and new ways to interact with old content, to the massive story expansions like Whispers in the Walls and the upcoming 1999, it’s just a great time to be a Warframe player.

I found it pretty enjoyable, but never finished because the plot begins to drag towards the midpoint of the game. I actually really enjoyed the combat and the layered systems, but once you get to a point where you can just hardcore train your character for a few weeks, the game quickly loses all challenge.

You say you drink it regularly, have you ever tried to stop? If you suddenly experience headaches and shakes after, I’ve bad news for you.

The thing is, caffeine addiction is so heavily normalized and encouraged by our capitalist society that most people do not realize they’re addicted. They consume caffeinated products with enough regularity that they never crave it, and you’re only ever encouraged to stop if you develop a health issue.

There’s a really great video by Filmcow that explains how hope is a poison for the mind. I think we’re living in a pretty hopeless world, and trying to desperately cling to the pretense that things will change without action from ourselves is dangerous and naive. If there’s something about the world that you passionately want to change and you’re not working to correct it, you will only disappoint yourself by hoping someone else will change it for you. Give up hope and embrace action.

It was never going to surpass Windows or MacOS, but it has been steadily growing in usage rate. I think now it’s at 5% of the market, largely off the back of Valve’s Steam Decks which may or may not count as desktop by your definition.

It’s just too technical to catch on for mainstream users, and that’s honestly fine. I think everyone would prefer Linux offer freedom instead of simplicity.

Too long can’t watch, are the stability issues and major bugs all cleared? at least to the level of general stability that Fallout 4 offers? I’d be interested in giving this project another go, but had a real rough time on launch.
