Reddit for niche communities (my town and the TTRPG I’m playing).
Lemmy for less niche communities (arguing about things, politics in my country) and trying to grow those communities.
I have a weird dislike of Tom Hanks. It isn’t hate, but I find myself inexplicably hostile towards him. No idea why.
Imagine being an adult raised without all-you-can-stomach porn and suddenly getting access to the Internet.
SO. MANY. BLISTERS.
Layer your clothing.
An undershirt + a shirt + sweater + jacket + a shell is a really warm combination. On your legs, long johns + pajama pants + regular pants is great.
As the seasons change, you can omit items to get just the right temperature.
Hard agree. Any statements about working conditions a company makes needs third party verification. Last time I checked, the Fair Trade peeps were the most reputable verifiers.
That looks like the best fit. Thanks!
Communities need a critical mass of people to post/comment/like. Lemmy barely has that. Individual communities can almost get it. But if they’re fragmented, they won’t.
That makes a lot of sense.
I like empirical testing! Thanks!
I didn’t realize there were fanless options. I’ll take a look at those.
Infrared spotlights sound like they’d get really hot, but I’ll check that out too.
Thanks!
It’s a pain in the butt. When people post, they often post to all of the communities, which fragments conversation - at least I think it does, since posts aren’t shared across communities/instances.
But it’s fine. If users are active, typically one community will be much larger than the others.
Thank you for doing that. I enjoy your posts.
What’s with initiates and slip dwellers? As your instructor has doubtlessly told you, they’re fine as long as they aren’t speaking Enochian. Don’t worry about Latin, Aramaic, or any of the Proto languages - those sound scary, but they aren’t a big deal.
If you do hear Enochian, immediately ward up (you should have already, but if you’re asking about Latin, you need a reminder), and return to your mortal form. Report the infested slip gate to your ranking practitioner.
Yeah. I came here after the Reddit API debacle. I hoped Lemmy would be a good substitute, but we don’t have enough users or enough posters.
My 500e I bought for 7k
A vehicle that can do a daily commute for 7k would be perfect. If you’re talking about the Fiat 500e, it’s 34k in my region. The cheapest used I can see is 22k.
Do you really NEED to be able to drive 300 miles every day? If so, battery isn’t likely for you. And if you don’t need to, why cry that it can’t?
This comes across as hostile.
My complaint is price points. When I get reduced range, I feel like I should pay less. An EV with a range of 120km in the winter for 7k would be amazing. It’d be a decent deal up until 15k. After that, the apparent value drops off. Like I said in my post, a PHEV feels like better value.
Double your commute gives you a buffer for the heater, or the grocery run after work. For most people this is only 80 miles… which almost every electric only car can do without issues.
Is the cost worth the vehicle?
This is where I get grumpy. I feel like that kind of range is a different category of vehicle, and it should be significantly cheaper than an ICEV, since it means I need to plan around the range.
I realize it’s the size of the battery pack, so it isn’t where most of the cost of the vehicle comes from, but still.
When it’s time to replace my current vehicle, I’ll probably go PHEV. But ideally public transit will be solved, so I won’t need to. 🤣
Holy crap. That’s an expensive software update. Did the manufacturer provide any kind of remuneration?
Life goes on past thirty five. I knew that was the case, but my plans and goals only went as far as then.
Kinda like when you graduate uni and you realize that there’s still more stuff to do.
