  • I’ve given up. Wake up to rain, maybe stay home Saturday afternoon? Afternoon storms forecasted, skip the camp visit? Nah. I’m going anyway, been burned too many times. Worst I can do is strap on the rain gear and walk around, or futz in the tent or shed until the inevitable solar breakthrough.

  • Always say yes to the student doctors and nurses, proud to do my part, but I damned near made a nurse cry one day. LOL, she was wrecked.

I was in the hospital, think they were changing my IV to the other arm? Anyway, that was the sort of thing she was trying to stick me for. This poor woman couldn’t nail a vein after SIX tries, gave up utterly humiliated. She keep poking and missing and apologizing, poking and missing and apologizing, getting more flustered each time. I was cold stoned on opiates, thought it was rather amusing, though the pain was getting a little annoying. Still, kept telling her it was cool, she’s there to learn and I was happy to help.

They bring another nurse in and he had to make two passes. Y’all, you can clearly see my forearm veins. Maybe I was a little dehydrated or something to do with the drugs?

With more market saturation, we’ll see more standardization. Imagine if the original ICE cars took a proprietary gas pump. LOL, the market would have fixed that horseshit with the quickness.

A huge selling point for pistol-caliber guns is if they take Glock magazines. They’re cheap, reliable and available everywhere. I’ll likely never own a Glock, but magazine compatibility would sway my purchase towards another manufacturer that doesn’t have a proprietary mag.

Charging will eventually be a self-solving problem. Right now it seems the manufacturers are trying to get ahead by saying, “Our model charges at X (number of) stations! They only have Y. Pick me!” If I can ever afford an EV, the most standard, “normal” option, whatever this is, is where I’m buying.

And if the free market doesn’t quickly arrive at a standard, time for the legislative hammer. While I’m leery of fucking around, I do so love how Europe says, “Nope! Every device sold here must be compatible.” Phone chargers and such.
