Not to me, it just sounds normal. The reason people feel apathy is because there is a difference between expectation and reality that is very big for them.
It’s the thought of “I need the world to be different for me to feel good” that is causing the apathy. You can change the thoughts on this and feel much, much better by being very grateful for having so much choice as a human being to find things you enjoy.
It’s always been wars, always been slavery, always been sickness.
If anything, we have it much better than before. How do you think it was growing up during the world wars?
Always explode oil rigs on a Friday.
It’s from experience. Older people know this world well. Doesn’t matter what you vote for, power stays with corporations.
Young people tend to believe you can change things by voting, which is naive and a bit cute.
I used to feel apathy until I realized there is one thing I can control - me. I can choose to do fun things, replace bad friends with new ones, learn new skills, grow as a person. I can put my phone down and read books and stop watching social media and porn. I can change who I am right now. And I will feel good from doing so.
The society will stay the same, but my perception of my life will be enjoyable, which is all I can actually do. You don’t have power over anything except yourself. Once you get that through your head, you understand how to not feel apathy anymore.
I wonder how many of those guys are actually trying to put women down, and how many are just trying to be helpful and talk to another human being.
Lol, you sound really angry. If you want to get better at this, you should probably remove your ego from the equation here and look at it objectively.
I see a lot of anger from both genders these days on social media. Take a step back from all of that and date people who are not into all that shit. It will turn your brain into mush. :)
Social media is harmful for you. It’s become even worse than the news now, since it’s actively targeting you with algorithms, trying to get you to be upset so you click around. It’s going to serve you the worst of humanity fighting eachother.
Just touch grass.
Happens all the time yeah.
I almost never even downvote because it’s an active choice to push down someone’s opinion.
Around 9 years old. Could be some 11 year olds in there.
Coffee shops and pubs when they are cozy and have that atmosphere of life.
This is the algoritm I use at work.
Remember how they used to have arenas and gladiators?
Guess which people we are watching now instead of gladiators.
How is the American presidential choice of picking 80 year old sociopath Donald Trump not a thought provoking issue?
But sure. Let’s focus on why Bananas are yellow.
100% agree.
The moderation is completely out of hand. Instead of being happy we have a platform where we can discuss things outside of big tech platforms, we have people who think moderation is more important than letting people express what is on their mind, specially on this day.
Wish I could make the mods be a bit mature here, but probably not.
Whats next, banning people for discussing moderation? I would not be surprised at this point.
I’ve been here from the start so I’m just angry to see this kind of thing here. Whoever mod who did this should look in the mirror and think “is my behavior a plus or a minus for the platform”.
I remember that experience first time and how I had to kill the process from another shell :)
This was before the internet so couldn’t exactly google it either.
Fun times. But I figured it out by reading the man page.
If you dont know how to exit vim, then yes you are…
I’m not watching. What’s the point of being manipulated and made to feel like we care about who wins? What previous president made things better instead of worse?
It’s like peasants cheering for either a turd or an asshole, both of which have much more in common with eachother than us. Great choices.
They are professional politicians with loads of money and influence, and an entire pr staff to write stories about them and make them appear a certain way to the public.
It’s more like they don’t make fun games.
It’s a failure of leadership, as usual.
