your destination is always between stations
you can never hold a solid shape
you notice peculiar signs that foretell great calamities but you can never make sense of it
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·6 months agobut i definitely can about the education: It’s so bad, it doesn’t even matter. Beatings are still practiced in schools, the textbooks are filled with propaganda of all kind, they are completely unsanitary and unfit for a healthy environment.
So basically like every other south asian school prior to 2015
And for shelter, i’ve seen homeless people completely naked, only covered by a blanket, sitting in the blistering heat, starved to the bone. It’s BS like everything else.
I know most countries try to hide their homeless population(even the goody-two-shoes countries like japan) butThis is the first time i have heard of this, how exactly do you become homeless in a welfare state? Its an easy process in a capitalist society but barring political dissenters (who are likely to be executed outright) what must go wrong that you find yourself on the streets.
Also i dont know if its okay to ask but are you a native or there due to circumstances (like a child of first generation immigrants or your parents are working in the country and you just happened to be there)
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·6 months agoThe perks are mostly applicable if you are a native or a naturalized citizen, of course royalty are treated like royalty(if you are working there with sizeable qualifications in a government owned company you can expect more perks than say a skilless construction labor) and nobody is testing how religious you are, this isnt NK where you have to constantly look over your shoulder and count if you have publicly glorified the supreme leader or not, You can be atheist without declaring yourself as such, woman had less rights, but MBS is trying to soften his kingdoms image and its striving towards equality, internet censorship is easily circumventable.
This is all based on what people(who work and immigrated) whom i personally know have told me, but i dont know about closeted or openly queer people.
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•*Permanently Deleted*English1·6 months agoIf you are a native regardless of royalty, dont you still get a lots of benefits and stuff like welfare? This all based on hearsay, the few whom i personally know that immigrated to work there have said so

Also, if I were in Saudi Arabia, I’d be trying to leave Saudi Arabia
Probably not, as long as you are not openly queer, you wont see any reason to leave co sidering the ridiculous amounts of perks you get, its not a 3rd world country or a backwater nation, it is a rich monarchial regime.

Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto memes@lemmy.world•But my favorite single digit billionaire pop star is one of the "good billionaires"!7·7 months agoYou decide not to feed it because it’s not your dog - it’s not your problem. But your whole house is completely stocked with food. You throw out large amounts of table scraps and leftovers daily.
How many people would consider that to be evil?
Internally the person can justify his actions “You feed a stray dog one time, it will nag you forever, maybe call up his buddies because there is free food, and now suddenly you have a pack of stray dogs on your farm that are causing all sorts of trouble”. Such nuances are always present(I will stop with the dog analogy, because your original example and my addendum, dehumanizes people in need to dogs). but such is the harsh reality, that often arises with a direct personal transfer of wealth, people tend to form a dependency on the table scraps and those that provide them(even though they are losing literally nothing) resent it.
The solution you may ask to greedy billionaires and hungry homeless people, SOCIETAL or GOVERNMENTAL INTERVENTION, think about it, its the failure of whoever the fuck is in charge that a select few of their citizens have exploited the system so well that their wastage is equivalent to the GDP of a small country, and similarly there are many people that only dream of a roof over their heads!!

I once nagged my friend to install Zorin Os lite on his c2d laptop with 2gb of RAM, he still uses it to this day
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•Linux market share passes 4% for first timeEnglish1·1 year agoI would equate the darkweb to that moniker and not the general clear web (that is at this point running on the infrastructure of just 3-4 companies, so its more like a choice between malls than individual vendors)
I was imagining c2d.
What?
Artemis_Mystique@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•Linux market share passes 4% for first timeEnglish1·1 year agoAtleast i am acutely aware of what is phoning home(Unlike M$), I avoid G services like the plague, but whenever i am forced to use them they sit in a separate FF profile, I know what links what and who are in kahoots with whom: If you take the approach that going on the web is equivalent to waltzing in a big public market square, and apply the appropriate precautions, you can ensure you’re late night pillow searches are never linked back to your G account.
My hardware is atleast 13 Yr old at this point, and it runs the latest Linux kernel and the Gnome DE just fine, Video playback and the general Internet is just ‘fine’; you can equate it to providing a mobility scooter to an old grandma who is mentally fit

1-2 thousands years from now, this would be featured in the weekly AI generated ‘10 mysterious artifacts from the 2000’s meme culture’ video, along side the 9gag meme rock or ‘the josh fight ground’
