  • Based on intelligence, IAF aircraft struck missile manufacturing facilities used to produce the missiles that Iran fired at the State of Israel over the last year. These missiles posed a direct and immediate threat to the citizens of the State of Israel. Simultaneously, the IDF struck surface-to-air missile arrays and additional Iranian aerial capabilities, that were intended to restrict Israel’s aerial freedom of operation in Iran.

  • The US has been hitting any Houthi poking their head above ground for the last year. Their available munitions and fighters are drastically reduced. You don’t see them landing helicopters on civilian tankers anymore, no, now you see B2 bombers blowing up their hideouts.

Hezbollah is even worse off. Israel compromised their supply lines and blew up huge portions of their leadership up and down the chain. They then were forced to meet in person, where even more of their leadership exploded via air-dropped bombs. No, they won’t recover for years. And this is while Israel launched a ground invasion destroying even more of their capability.

  • It will, however, add more users to the critical mass that has previously prevented Linux from being mainstream. Already we are seeing more and more software adoption. The average Facebook/word processor user can use Linux with no issues. And the average gamer can use Linux with minimal problems as well. Hell, the dominant PC gaming handheld runs Linux, not Windows. That itself is damning.

This was not the case 10 years ago, and it is clear what path is being forged.

  • Internet connected devices are a mistake. Not only is there non-existent security updates for the device, it means there is a timer on the life of the functions of the device. If a device cannot function offline, you will have a gimped (or completely dead) product soon.

functions like scheduling a charge will no longer work

Case and point. Why did the device ever need the internet to run a clock? It didn’t, but because it was ‘smart’, now it can’t operate a basic time function.

  • Yeah, I think someone in Saudi Arabia looked at the expenses for The Line‡, and then put out a number that sounds nice and would help with that massive outflow; but like you said, didn’t trifle with a more realistic target. Meanwhile, Russia is pumping with whatever hasn’t been hit by a drone yet, as they can use every ruble they can get; depressing the price.

‡I still can’t get over how, instead of building up an industry in Saudi Arabia to vary the economy, instead they went for a vanity mega-project to … attract tourists?
