  • These two things are entirely mostly unrelated. People who do not want to be misgendered for whatever reason use them to avoid being misgendered as often as possible. To be inclusive some allies include theirs also, it shows some level of support and helps normalize displaying pronouns. You can still support others without putting your own pronouns promenantly out there for everyone to see.

Take me for instance. I identify agenderly but use he/him pronouns mostly becuase that’s how I was born and look. I, much like you, don’t care about how I’m pronouned, and honestly I prefer however I’m presenting at the time. In life it doesn’t change much. But in games it can vary.

My own opinion on pronouns being that they exist to ease conversation, and so long as they do that, I have no problem using anyone’s preferred selection. Up until someone decides their pronouns are so unique that it’s not really a pronoun anymore, it’s more like a second name. That’s when I get a bit petty and will generally avoid talking about whoever that is at all.

  • I mean… we grow teeth a total of 3 times. The first for our baby teeth, the second time for our ‘mature’ teeth, and the make up ‘wisdom’ teeth to fill any that might’ve fallen out at that point. I’m guessing those three growths were the most needed for humans early survival before we got all fancy with farming and hygiene. At which point we kind of broke survival of the fittest and things just kind of happen now.

Kind of like how humans are one of a handful of mammals that didn’t evolve out of menstruation.

  • There are three subsets of flat earth believers.

The truthers: they legitimately believe in the flat earth. They generally haven’t traveled much or at all and have no idea the scale of things. They aren’t willing to test stuff themselves, but they will parrot anything that sounds decent.

The grifters: much like telemarket scammers asking about something antiquated (like TV boxes) they know their audience is likely going to fall for whatever they have to offer. They make videos online constantly, ask for people to join their group, squeeze whatever they can from people who want the echo chamber.

The “anti” 's who have become the Qanons: the flat earth isn’t the whole iceberg, it’s barely even the tip. It’s all just a method of control that ‘they’ want you to believe in so that you are simple sheep to their new world order and anti religious rhetoric. They don’t really care if the flat earth is real, it’s just close enough to their beliefs that they’ll assimilate it to spite ‘the man’.

And the fourth group that aren’t flat earthers at all: the trolls. They fan the flames, make the images that don’t fit the models, and generally seem to ally themselves with the flat earthers, just to laugh about it later, while also getting people who notice stuff like this to so laugh along. Flat earth is the joke and their assistance is the punchline.

  • Tangential story time. I play a lot of video games, mmo’s being the norm. A few years ago one came out that I was hooked on not just as a game but also a social platform. I met many people on there and knew them better than I know some of my friends.

One of them set a goal for herself. She wanted a billion in game currency, and it was possible. She spent several months and enough real world money to end up in some fairly deep debt, but I only heard that from others who were closer.

Being outside of her unguarded group, she randomly asked me what I would do of I had a billion currency in the game. I thought about it for a few minutes and responded “I’d probably quit the game”. Confused, she asked me why.

It’s a pretty simple concept, if I had accumulated that level of wealth in game, that meant one of two things had occured: either I had nothing left to spend the currency on, or the inflation had gotten so bad that only the wealthiest players could participate.

That mindset doesn’t work with the rich. They can do and get whatever they want with their wealth, but they’re more focused on getting a big number more than actually just enjoying it freely and openly.

Eating the rich is decimating the concept of a high score financially. Fostering altruism and attempting to make the world a better place for all. The absolute wealth some people in this world have could do so much good if it weren’t being hoarded.

Taxing the rich is a hard fight with so many loopholes and outs that it will take forever. Changing the mindset is basically impossible as well, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try every available means.
