I’m so deaf I could sit in a room full of large, sweaty men slurping chicken off drumsticks while making open-mouthed, gruntled dad noises with every gasping breath, and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. Well, other than such a room existing, that is.
Does your PC have an Intel or AMD CPU? Congrats, you don’t have to worry about Recall. At least for now, it only works on Copilot+ PCs with ARM processors.
That’s a funny way to spell Ogre Battle.
Some say that forklift is still running today.
He beats up lots of guys with axes tho
You would want something like this. The important part is that it comes in two pieces so you can install it without having to disconnect anything to pass it through. The brushes are to resist airflow, but they are obviously not going to be airtight or pest resistant. For that, I would use expanding foam insulation. Those cables and pipes aren’t going anywhere, and if you absolutely had to replace one, removing the sprayfoam is a trivial effort compared to the rest of the job.
There was a shawarma place I used to go to that had an interesting “garlic sauce”. You couldn’t call it toum, as it was either not whipped with oil or they stopped after adding a splash. It had the appearance of being just very finely chopped garlic, like somebody ran it through a food processor until it was almost a paste. And fuck, it was so good on their donair pizzas. We used to get a small tub to go with it, but after a slice of the pizza, a sip of beer would set your tongue on fire. And the next morning, shaving would make the bathroom smell like fresh garlic. Definitely too much, but oddly worthwhile from time to time.
Not FYEO. It was intentionally written to ground Bond in reality after the absurdity that was Moonraker. He has one gadget, the Lotus, which gets blown up immediately, leading us into the iconic 2CV car chase. Even has Moore, well aware of the age gap between actors, blowing off the advances of the much younger Lynn-Holly Johnson by offering to instead buy her an ice cream. Great action sequences throughout, and one of the most kick ass Bond girls in Carole Bouquet.
There’s nothing like the sight of a shorn Skarsgård; it’s breathtaking, I suggest you try it.
Cisco ACI. What a janky, buggy mess. Dozens of clicks to accomplish tasks you used to be able to do in less than 5 seconds from the CLI. And the GUI is laid out like a fever dream. You need to script everything to be even close to efficient, even unique one off tasks, and then you spend more time editing scripts than it used to take to do jobs manually from the CLI. We have one environment with a couple hundred independently managed switches that one guy can manage pretty effectively with little to no automation. It takes a dozen people to manage an environment with about three hundred switches and they are always fixing stupid bugs. The staff turnover there is hilarious. Most people try it for a while and then run for the hills.
Absolutely this. Because it is never clear which is meant without being qualified, you have to do this every time unless you specify. I would just say Saturday the 4th to save the exchange.
Those glass bottles used to cause an awful lot of horrific deaths and injuries during handling, so from a safety perspective, there is no desire at all to return to glass. Glass bottles are also much heavier than plastic, so have a commensurate environmental impact due to the increased consumption of fossil fuels for shipping as well. Fixing the problems with plastic was a big PR win and saved companies millions in law suits and shipping costs. They won’t go back to glass. The answer is probably re-usable plastic containers purchased by the customer and refilled at stores for the same price (or more) than when sold in disposable plastic packaging. Another PR win in the offing, no doubt.
Happened at a DC I worked at, but a little before my time. Someone thought it would be a bright idea to use the design of some 1970s Californian architectural prodigy in Canada. When winter hit, the humid air condensed on the inside of the uninsulated metal roof and it rained in the attic, eventually leaking out across the entire computer room ceiling. They had pictures that showed 6mm poly stretched out and taped above all the mainframes and DASD while water rained down from above, running off the sides of the plastic sheeting and pooling on the raised floor. They also used to throw wild alcohol-fueled Christmas parties, and climbed up on top of the racks so they could play games jumping from row to row. What a time to be employed!
Judging from the fact that this made world news, I have to admit it worked. A single post getting people angry about a fake cancer victim proved far more effective than any ad campaign I have ever seen for health awareness, and zero cost! I guess we only pay attention when we are outraged. Fair play, then.
Of note, that stuff works great, but you need to be very sparing with it, as it very difficult to sand compared to the premixed stuff. Make sure you have it as close to the way you want it to look as you are able before you let it dry. A lot of drywallers use this stuff for pre-filling poor, uneven drywall board work before taping, as it is very hard stuff. But it can take a lot longer to dry that way than the bag would suggest. Sheetrock 90 turned into Sheetrock Maybe Tomorrow in my kitchen reno after I used it to replace sections along the edges of some damaged drywall that tore out when I removed the old tile backsplash.
Yeah, I’d love that. I think a good number of subs I end up downloading are written by some dude trying their best, and if they don’t know the language, they can’t really begin to guess how to spell the words. But anything released by a studio or on a streaming site has no excuse.
