This weekend just gone I’ve been playing Sins of a Solar Empire II & Steam World Heist II. Both great games, the style and music in SWHII is really well done, and a worthy successor to the first game.

It looks like a VR tech demo that they decided to change into a non-vr game.
If it were me I would add a giant creature into it that has a personality depending on how I and the villagers treat it. Maybe change the name to something that rhymes with “Back and Kite” and slap a number on it, the number 3 feels right for some reason.
Surely this is better than the crypto/NFT tech fad. At least there is some output from the generative AI that could be beneficial to the whole of humankind rather than lining a few people’s pockets?
It would be cool if it included other names for things. E.g. Kubernetes can also be known as K8s. Also not too mobile friendly when looking at more info. Besides that it is an interesting concept!
Set it to UK if that link isn’t working for you
I decided to give the gold place breaking video a watch and although these people are skilled, I just don’t quite get the “this is the current peak of human physical fitness/skill” that we see from other sports. Diving, Rowing, BMXing, even synchronised swimming were all really impressive. I wonder if Breaking will make a return?
What’s the most common type of owl in the UK?
The Teat-owl
Given the state the last government was run by Tories, I hope it will be a long time before we see them get into power again.
It’s likely A/B Testing and when people receive the new layout, if Youtube sees a drop in engagement for their experiment they may just ditch it.
This gave big uncanny valley vibes. I imagine it was meant to feel like a magical advert, but instead it felt creepy.
You’ll have to ask the company that eventually buys them out!
Definitely chippy chips with battered fish.
It’s not the destination but the journey. In that 360 turn you may have looked inwards and at your past, identified failings of the past or remember things you forgot about that you loved. When you reach that 360 point you’re more aware of what has been and may have a different outlook on what could be. Or something like that…
I have no preference! It was to do with Spring/yaml config and some really strange conflict which required the use of single quotes. I’m still a total noob in the world of software dev, so I wouldn’t be able to explain why it worked 🤣
Removed double quotes, added single quotes
It sucks. A lot of businesses, not just in game development, are getting rid of contractors as they’re expensive. I hope those contractors successfully find work soon.
Cars really are more convenient on an individual basis. It’s not ideal for the environment and getting stuck in traffic is a pain in the arse when it happens, but for the individual it provides greater benefits than public transport.
In the UK it’s cheaper than public transport, it’s much more reliable, it’s healthier (not being in close proximity to those who may be harbouring a flu), and it affords people the freedom to travel somewhere that public transport can’t get you sufficiently close to.
Personally I feel that the best step is to reduce the need for people to travel. If people don’t need to be in offices then don’t enforce policies to get them back in. That’ll reduce car usage as well as public transport.
The key difference is that you don’t have to be subscribed to all of those services at the same time. You can rotate through them.
Watch what you want on Netflix, unsub > sub to Disney and watch what you want, unsub > …
Sure in an ideal world it would be better if everything was on a single cheap service, but sadly that won’t happen.
I see new content every day, and that is after blocking a lot of instances that aren’t relevant to my taste. I don’t think this place is dead, it just needs more of those 48k to contribute.
