I would’ve loved to play Helldivers 2 but I just refuse to allow them that level of access to my device, especially for a game that isn’t even competitive.
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How to use a custom domain with Tailscale on a Synology NAS?English2·1 year agoThanks for the answers. I guess that was not clear from my post, but I do not want to expose anything to the internet. All I want to do is tidy up the urls to the services for clarity. I have no issue with installing Tailscale on every device I want to access my services with. I can currently access any service just fine by doing “tailscaleIP:PortOfService”, but that is kind of unpractical. So by using my domain and Cloudflare DNS I changed it to “mydomain.com:PortOfService” which is already better, but means I have to look up what port the service I need uses. Like I said in my post I’d ideally like “nameOfService.mydomain.com”, no ports. And yes I realize this is purely for convenience/aesthetic reasons. Apologies if my words are not clear enough.
I mean… Of course everyone feels different, but I personally didn’t mind the lockdown at all because of those exact reasons. Yes, I like being home, I like being alone, and while I also like going out and seeing friends from time to time, knowing that they also can’t go out took the FOMO away that often motivates me to participate in social activities.
I honestly did not notice a big change in my lifestyle or emotional state during the lockdown, while some extrovert friends spiralled pretty hard.
But once again, those feelings are different for everyone. I just don’t like generalising. My extroverted friends are also very respectful and give me space when I need it or ask for it, so acting like extroverts are just assholes with no regard for their friends makes me think some of you need better friends.

Also, according to a post I saw recently, a true roguelike needs to fulfill a bunch of very specific requirements that already disqualify 99 percent of the games in the genre, so why even bother?
Games evolve, that’s a good thing, let’s not start gatekeeping genres too much.
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Help with music library setupEnglish4·1 year agoI meant streaming shows with Jellyfin works fine, so I don’t see why streaming music shouldn’t work at least as well. I don’t like using streaming clients such as Plex or Jellyfin for music, they just feel quite unpolished.
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Help with music library setupEnglish1·1 year agoDepends, I get two problems, one where the song will abruptly stop playing at about the 1 quarter mark (only skipping the song or restarting will fix), and the other being the generally slow and unreliable streaming. The former happens everywhere, even in the webUI in my LAN, and the latter only when out and about (Tailscale into my network).
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•Steam Lovecraftian Days 2024 saleEnglish3·1 year agoSoo, anyone got any game recommendations? Lemmy already has so few comments and social interaction (the only reason I visit sites like these) so why dilute it even further by focusing on pointless stuff? I swear every time I see a good post and am excited to see what people have to say about it it’s 90 percent pointless arguing in the comments.
Although I suppose I just contributed to it as well, so carry on I guess.

I mean it’s nice of you to make these claims, but what the hell does reducing csam searches have to do with the panopticon and us becoming enslaved?
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•The three million toothbrush botnet story isn’t true.English12·1 year agoMore like ‘diverse’ or ‘versatile’. Although multifaceted would be the literal translation so I guess it works.
StitchIsABitch@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•This is way too expensive for a drink.English1·2 years agoIced Tea is only really a thing in this context in the EU. Most of the people I know (myself included) never really made the connection and were surprised to find out it’s supposed to be real tea on ice, hence the name. We call it ice tea without really thinking about it, just like no one ever thought “I bet they call this coca-cola because it used to be made with cocaine”.
Honestly don’t even think it tastes like tea. To me it just tastes like “Ice Tea”.
Admittedly you would look like a dork if you filmed at a 45 degree angle.
I miss the flash sales too but it’s worth it considering it gave us refunds instead.
