Chez nous, depuis toujours, nous avons utilisé Windows en anglais car en français il y avait trop de bogues. C’est resté au fil du temps. Quand je me suis procuré Linux la première fois j’étais déjà tellement habitué aux termes anglais.

Surtout qu’ici au Canada, même au Québec, toute la documentation pour bien des trucs n’était qu’en anglais avant que les lois obligent le français.

Aujourd’hui c’est vrai que toute la documentation qu’on retrouve en ligne est en anglais aussi et c’est donc plus facile de chercher des messages d’erreurs.

D’un autre côté je me sens mal pour tous ceux qui travaillent fort pour faire la traduction des logiciels libres.

And finally, what about how companies are doing programmed obsoletion of their products like electronics and appliances and design their products in a way that produces more e-waste? Or how everything is wrapped in plastic all the time? How is that the consumer’s fault?

Change needs to start at the top. Cut the greedy fuckers out of the loop and you’ll see how much waste we can reduce.

Congratulations. I deleted mine earlier this year and it’s been a blessing. The community I used to be a part of has become so toxic. I go check it out from time to time and I can see I made the right decision.
