Sounds rotten :-(
Maggie’s Farm by Bob Dylan
Radio Friendly Unit Shifter by Nirvana
All the Best by R.E.M.
Intro by The Prodigy (not a song, technically, but a clear statement of intent from Liam Howlett)
Exactly - really glad it worked out, especially if that’s how the others are going to react! :-)
Jesus, what a bunch of freaks those people sound.
I mean, set aside that you outsmarted them with an unexpected move, but, oh no, you mean the evil side didn’t do things by the book?? Who’da thunk it?
You may know this already, but in Scotland, the term “pishing” is synonymous with “pissing” - ‘going for a pish’, ‘he was totally pished’ (drunk), ‘i pished myself laughing’, etc.
Just a heads up in case you ever decide to come here and ask someone where a good place for pishing might be :-)
That’s a really fascinating, if depressing insight. I’ve long wondered what it’s like for “normal” (nah, fuck it, just normal) people in subcultures with so much baggage.
Sure, here, let me come over and show it to you…
Not a major event, but there’s a number of football ⚽ matches I wish I could have been at, not least the 1961 and 1968 Scottish Cup finals.
But I guess that depends on what you’re advertising, how much it costs, and how many of those clicks actually resulted in purchases.
Agree with that, but also the purpose of the ad may not even have been to generate clicks, just to strengthen brand awareness or whatever. In which case 24k impressions may be pretty good for $900 (although impressions don’t necessarily mean anyone actually paid attention to the ad).
Is that a song lyric? It feels familiar, but I can’t place it.
EDIT - wait, it’s Blind Melon - Time, just found it! Great song, great album.
Nice pic, by the way!
Perfect ad placement…
Although, is the photo definitely a bee? Looks like a wasp to me, though I’m no expert.
Would have been interesting to see what happened with alcohol, ecstacy, cocaine, heroin, etc. The last one might have just been a blank square though.
Rightly so. I laughed at the HHGG reference and then I got the second level and mentally applauded you :-)
It’s where cutlery couples go after they get married.
I agree. It’s clever, given the theme of escapism - at a glance it’s a pic of someone using a monitor, but the more you look, the more things are weird or uncanny. And yet she is so engrossed, she doesn’t know (or care).
Took me a while to spot that the outside is rotated 90 degrees!
I always liked that little background joke in Shaun of the Dead where you hear a newsreader say:
“Claims that the virus was caused by rage-infected monkeys have now been dismissed as bull…”
Nice little dig at 28 Days Later :-)
Recently, the best would be Underworld in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago, which was absolutely phenomenal.
Best ever is hard to say - R.E.M. at Stirling Castle would take some beating though. Also, the Chemical Brothers at a festival in the mid-1990s and Pulp at that same festival. Oh, and the Beastie Boys in Glasgow in 1999, that was pretty special.
