Serious question, why?
I see this all the time, but I’ve run my own tests in the past and found WinRAR to be both faster and produce smaller file sizes.
Easy. 7-zip is open source. Enough said.
Fair enough.
In addition to being free, the 7z file format seems to achieve slightly higher compression ratios.
