Does volcanic glass really look like that? Perhaps it’s just glass slag from a factory.

I cannot possibly imagine not doing this job in a fully sealed deep diving suit with a hepa filter and chainmail from head to toe.

Silicosis is a fucking nightmare on par with mesothelioma and emphysema.

Yeah, the N95’s are a good step, but probably not enough. Some people weren’t wearing masks at all.

Also, It didn’t look like any of the saws had good safety stops, the angle-grinders were taped down, and the guy cutting the balls seemed to be really close to getting a (gloved) hand sucked into the saw.

Definitely not the worst safety, but people are definitely getting hurt at this job site. And this is what they considered good enough to show on Youtube, so probably worse than we think…

      Very cool balls though.

I couldn’t do that simply because of the sounds.

So many years spent at the clubs my brain is trained that broken glass, bottles skiddling on the street, all those kinds noises, those are warning sounds, the sounds of the night (or morning) needs to wrap the fuck up, where’s the car, where’s that one friend no one has seen since you parked, let’s go, get in.

Ybor will do that to you …

Sheesh, in San Francisco even closing the afters at 6am isn’t that problematic!

Wonder if the genre or the region has more of an impact. What’d you listen to in Ybor (Tampa?), any house?

        Breaks, filthy dirty breaks.

It’s the area / Florida. In the mid nineties to mid 2000s it was pretty much a free for all in Ybor. Lots of laws and rules and closing times made as a result of the scene being so absolutely out of hand, not just in the clubs, it was out on and in the streets, alleys, etc etc. People blowing up to the music everywhere… Just over the top Insanity.

Completely and utterly impossible for that to happen today.

        I miss it.
