It seems they’ve had millions of the packaging, and are running it out.

Look at the gap between the wrap and the edge of the pack

I’m not understanding what the issue is. Is it because they’re smaller than they used to be?

That kind of packaging is made pre-printed, and the product is sold by weight, so if they made them smaller, they added more to the package to make up for it.

That’s what makes it mildly infuriating.

This is in-your-face pending shrinkflation. Once they run out of old packaging they will use new with reduced mass and count but same price. Also, you assume they’ve actually increased the number to keep the mass valid. I would not be shocked at all to learn they didn’t making this potential lawsuit material.

I would assume so, and with good reason. The laws for that stuff are strictly enforced. There’s a margin of error, but we’re talking a few grams. Enough that one fewer tortillas in the package would put it over that limit and litigation would ensue.

Once they run out of old packaging

Packaging is cheap af. They’re not trying to run out their old packaging. I’m not saying that it’s not a lead-up to shrinkflation, just that they don’t care about old, leftover packaging. More likely, IME working in packaging, would be that they’re waiting for someone working on the machines to dial in the settings before switching to a different roll of film.

Anyway, I wasn’t trying to argue anything in the first place, just trying to get a grasp of OP’s point since they didn’t really explain what the issue was.

Instead of being an argumentative cunt, why not just downvote and move on? Is your life that fucking empty?

Fuck me mate, have a look at yourself 😂

Remind me how much that is helping you out next time you are trying to make a wrap from a taco sized tortilla.

I find it kind of normal that most products don’t completely fill their packaging, so it wasn’t as obvious to me as it may have been for you. But with that explanation, fuck them indeed.

The explanation is garbage, though. The gap between the top and bottom of the packaging is about as close as it should get to the product. We can’t even see all the packaging either.

What’s crazy is seeing a feddit.uk buying french old el paso, probably from the local “carrouf” or leclerc.

Literally had this conversation in our house in the past 72 hours about their “Burrito Sized” wraps. (but over here in the US)

We don’t normally buy that brand, but we have in the past and it was all that was avail.

My wife opened it up and was like WTF.

A proper “burrito sized” tortilla needs to be large enough to cover a small baby. Used to go to the restaurant supply store to get the real deal. Starting to think I should just get good at making them from scratch.
