How long before Trump & Netanyahu claims this shows that all those opposing Israel’s genocide & occupation are violent extremists? I’m sure they’ll throw the word antisemitic in there too for good measure.

They already have called it “antisemitic terrorism” even though the attacker turned himself in to building security right after.

Considering the victims are rumored to be an engaged couple and the perpetrator been seen waiting, I’m thinking a more personal motive like jealousy, or a specific case, rather than racism.

It‘s not terrorism if the perpetrator turn themself in?

          It’s not terrorism if it’s a lover’s spat.

Considering the victims are rumored to be an engaged couple and the perpetrator been seen waiting, I’m thinking a more personal motive like jealousy, or a specific case, rather than racism.

But in fairness it’s all just speculation currently.

It is not antisemitic when the perpetrator specifically says this was targeted against the occupation and not against Jews.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on X: “This was a brazen act of cowardly, antisemitic violence. Make no mistake: we will track down those responsible and bring them to justice.”

It’ll definitely fuel Trump’s plans to criminalize anybody boycotting the genocide.

When you’re shooting unrelated Jewish people for simply… being Jewish, then the answer is right now.

They were Israeli embassy staff not random Jewish people. Not that it makes it ever right to randomly shoot any human being but they are government workers of a genocidal settler colony, not just random Jewish people.

I don’t know why you would put it like that or focus on that instead of the general consensus that no one should shoot anyone no matter who they are. Especially in this case this makes it actually worse because it blurs the line to true anti-Jewish hatred.

Honestly, this feels like on a similar level as attacking jews during holocaust memorial or at Auschwitz. I understand there is a war, but this feels a bit like wrong place to do it

No, this would be like shooting the cleaners at the German embassy during the Nazi regime, for simply being German.

If a German working at the Nazi embassy gets shot, they were not getting shot for “being German” when the perpetrator says “Free the Jews” afterwards.

That said, you might be right that they were not diplomats themselves but staffers. The article did mention the male staffer going back to Nazi-Germany to propose.

Small edit: None of them were “janitors”. The man served 3 years in the IDF before current role, and was a “Research assistant for the MENA region” at the Israeli embassy.

The woman worked at for the Israeli embassy’s Public Diplomacy department. So basically doing genocide PR.

Ah but don’t you see? Saying “free palestine” is now antisemitic because the zionazis have decided that opposing the genocide they are commiting is “antisemitic”.

According to them, being jew gives you freedom to kill thousands of people (including children), and opposing that is a hate crime.

No, not really, because nazis never experienced genocide themselves, there are no such memorials and most of the Germany protesting against nazis was hardly a thing at the time afaik

Not saying these two were innoncent tho, but still feels like a really wrong place to do it, could have just followed and done it at some other place

How many IDF soldiers have experienced genocide? You are correct I never saw any Germans complaining about Hitler’s election on TikTok.
