Lmao that’s so shameless
Sure, but statistically speaking, as a male, I also engage in more “risky” behavior, such as taking walks during pitch black night at 3AM. Analyzing that statistic without taking into consideration how much caution is exercised by each gender is meaningless.
And regardless, I think the discussion of “Which gender has it worse” is less important than “how do we make society safer for everyone”. I want to take safe walks at 3AM ffs.
I thought this whole thing was bait until a streamer recently told a personal anecdote: he recently went to a wedding, and at some point, he realized that all the women kept the drinks in their hands, for the whole time, until they were done with them. After asking about it, he was told that it was standard safety to avoid getting roofied. At that point I realized I had seriously underestimated the chances of running across a psycho capable of gifting you some precious trauma for most people.
I mean. The diminishing returns on larger teams in software development is an absolutely proven idea. But according to what I’m reading, the game is made by one person, which is probably not the ideal size for a game of these characteristics that becomes a hit. Still, expanding a 1-person team is going to be a slow process no matter what, especially for a project like this and right after a successful launch.
Most moral army in the world
You should trust that ads are going to be dishonest in one way or another. If you, personally, discuss your opinions and experiences of certain good and services with other people, you know that you may at least be honest, if you want to. And in doing so, you’re likely helping people make better choices with their money.
I needed some physiotherapy last year, and the first clinic I went to tried to handle me like I was a cog in an industrial complex: get done with him fast, don’t listen to his feedback, wait I forgot to ask what did his doctor diagnose but whatever we’ve only got 25 minutes. The therapists at the next clinic (one of them had to take medical leave, so I was assigned to a different one two weeks in) properly took their time to find every contracture, listened to me, offered longer sessions and was cheaper. Shittalking the first clinic and recommending the second one is only positive for everyone. Except for the asshole who runs the first one.
Ok, that’s fair. The article might be omitting context with that quote.
“Like, where do you draw the line between what’s true and what’s not true?” he said. "What we tend to do is, the most truthful thing is what people saw on the screen, right? That’s the most truth. And then things that are written officially along with the games are kinda second truth. And then, other things that are written or done outside of that—spin-off things, or somebody answering on the internet—those things are kinda third place.
…Huh, what??? I can understand him wanting New Vegas to have lower priority in terms of canon in comparison to games made by Bethesda, but why the hell would he want a TV show’s canonicity to be above the actual source material, and the one that they themselves made on top of that???
Aaaand that would be correct.
I’ve seen a lot of criticism towards Islam from positions of defending secularism and opposing fanaticism, which I think is neat. If I see someone attacking Muslims from positions of bigotry, I don’t think that’s so neat. Do you understand the difference?
The terrible oppression of letting people different than me have the same rights I have.
It has long been a Christian lobby rallying cry that the mere mention of homosexuality will bring about their imagined “homosexual dictatorship”, a prophecy that includes crumbling family structures, crashing birth rates, an AIDS pandemic, and gay soldiers surrendering en masse to a North Korean invasion.
Ah, yes, this is a very important issue to South Korea. They wouldn’t want to lose their position as the -let me check the notes- second country in the world with the lowest birth rate. Rigid and traditional gender roles are working great for them so far, it’s not like men and women hate each other over there or anything.
Plenty of universities and politicians are attacking students protesting for Palestinians. Wouldn’t look good on them that they’re attacking free speech.
Oh, shit, that’s right, make up is chemically corrosive to men’s skin, we can’t use it.
These kinds of “morality” laws always have a built-in slippery slope that entrenches police and judicial corruption, see here:
the bill would also impose a minimum seven-year prison sentence for “promoting homosexuality,” which is undefined in the bill (…) While consensual gay sex is not explicitly outlawed under current law in Iraq, vague “morality” clauses in the country’s penal code are routinely used to target LGBTQ+ people (…) who said it was necessary to “preserve the entity of the Iraqi society from deviation and calls for ‘paraphilia’ [abnormal sexual impulses] that have invaded the world.”
First they speak of homosexuality, half an hour later they’re speaking about deviant behavior and paraphilias. What does count as any of those though? Practicing anal or oral sex? Having pornographic material? Wearing jeans as a woman, or letting your hair slightly long as a man? The vagueness is the purpose: by declaring a not very well defined enemy, people in positions of relative power (a policeman, a judge, a local governor) are capable of promoting witch-hunts about anyone who makes a faux pas.
Ruining the lives of 5-10% of your society’s population is bad enough, but the main purpose of these moves is promoting conformity and entrenching corruption as a means of exerting political power.
Come on, they’re raising concerns about how this ruling will be made effective. An actual criminal would just stay silent and use the VNP.
No surprises here. A lot of the people leading the anti-trans organizations and movements in the UK and abroad had (quite surprisingly /s) really regressive views in plenty of other issues. Now that they’ve fed the beast and they’re present in political discussions all over the country, it’s only natural that they grow more ambitious.

Programmer here. While scaling up the work of an increasing number of programmers is probably harder in a pure logistical way, I feel like you’re severely underestimating the difficulty in scaling up an actual artistic vision. Setting up piles of modelers to produce assets like they’re assembly line workers isn’t going to result in a compelling world.
