I can already see the first person with the implant losing to a teenager gamer in a competition hosted by musk. This reality’s plot has become too boring already. The writer has lost all creativity.
Don’t forget the mass manipulation of public opinion. There are a lot of players out there doing that all the time. From companies making ads that look like silly posts, and paying people or using bots to speak ill of the competition, to media agencies spreading fake news aiming at shifting people’s political views.
So many things became normalized… paywalls, popups, clickbait titles, bloated sites, all sorts of data collection and abuse, geographic restrictions, being forced to have a phone with you all the time, having to use apps as the only means to access stuff outside from the internet, software obsolescence of functional hardware, and the list goes on.
And here we are, like boiling frogs, collectively accepting everything.

I expected to see risc v processors first in embedded devices, like routers and cameras, then moving to smart devices, like tvs and smartwatches, then to phones and then desktops. But looks like there won’t be a clear line, and things will come concurrently.
One of the great advantages of software distributed with the source code is the flexibility to move to different platforms and architectures. I wonder if moving to a snap/flatpak model will change this flexibility in the future.
