Fuck that, and fuck him.
he’s about to reverse the population increase of India
Had to google who this guy is
Rishi Sunak’s father in law and Indian billionaire
Why am I not surprised!!
Because every democracy is an oligarchy masquerading as a democracy… It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it!
That’s why Parliamentary Democracies are the best kind.
I’m sure this fucker hasn’t worked a 70 hour workweek in his entire life. Hell, I’d be surprised if he’s worked 40.
Oh, you genuinely don’t know who this guy is, do you?
Oh the guy who took advantage of people in his country to undercut people of other countries while pocketing the difference?
Oh yea. Bet that guy worked his fucking ass off and isn’t a complete scumbag.
Oh I’m not arguing that he’s not a scumbag and didn’t take advantage of many hundred of thousands of youth and spit them out like pulp.
But that doesn’t discount that he did work his ass off in the beginning and for a long time till his “startup” became the behemoth that it is today.

He seems to be able to sit just fine. His ass is still there. And you don’t get billions without exploitation.
lol on the first part. Agreed on the second.
It works in Japan.
Good!
Actually it’s bad when people suffer
I think it will decrease due to violence and suicide. Maybe not that good.
Coming from a guy thats never put in an honest hour of work in his life.
70 hours a week…
So would he prefer 10 hours a day, every day? Or just 14 hours a day, 5 days a week?
Are they just not supposed to go to school?
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen the end results of this:

Thank you, I always enjoy a good Indiana Jones
I disagree. Narayana Murthy should work 70 hours a week, all while sucking my balls.
Rishi Sunak’s father-in-law, everyone.
Makes sense…
An old dusty fart who never had a real days work since most of us has been alive is telling young people to work more, never heard that one before
Get fucked
I assume an increase in hours of that magnitude comes with at least a doubling of pay.
It won’t, but even triple money don’t make it any better!
So slave labor.
Wow. That website is cancer on mobile.
I couldn’t open the article. Prompt to sign in via X site, then sign up for newsletter; it is shitty.
Coming to the article, his argument makes no sense. India’s youths don’t need to burn the midnight oil to catch up to developed countries. India has a lot of unemployed, underemployed(people having a degree higher than what they are working in; imagine having a MBA and doing a clerical job, that is common here) people.
On the contrary, I would argue there is oversupply of skilled labor in the country but not enough jobs (cough population cough). Logically, you can start instituting four week days and hire extra people. Sure, ultimately company need to pony up more but that is a logical way forward.
Oh, and there are a multitude of things that no amount of work from youths can change in India, which stop it from rising further as a country. But I will stop my rant. Suffice to say, I expected more from a man of his stature than such a statement.
India has a lot of educated people who speak English. They should be doing much better than they are. Corruption, the Caste System, and their time zone (opposite the US) are hurting them.
Time for India to get hungry and eat its billionaires
This reminds me of Hey Mon with the Hedleys, with the lazy son who “only” has two jobs.
Such a utterly stupid idea. The opposite would make much more sense. Young people should not work at all and concentrate on their young children, educate them, spend time with them, etc. so that they can grow up into valuable citizens. Old people on the other hand should work until they drop dead.
Counterpoint: all people should work to their best ability and happiness.
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”
I could get behind that.

If you are unhappy while working, you probably are either working the wrong job or need more free time, maybe both.

Yep, unfortunately(?), living costs money. And i can’t make enough money doing the things i really like to do.
I mean, my mother enjoyed her days working as a kindergarden teacher. And it’s not always sun and peaches, but I quite enjoy my work as a programmer to overall.
I think this might be a you-problem. Maybe you’ll find a job that suits you one day.

Is that due to not liking teaching? Or because lawmakers and administration have made the job far more frustrating and difficult than it needs to be among other external factors?
We shouldn’t let anyone limp crotched enough to use the word “youngster” participate in any societal decisisons at all.
