It’s not more heretical to claim that jesus wasn’t entirely human, quite the opposite in fact. It’s a very old theological debate of homoousianism vs heteroousianism vs homoiousianism (same substance, different substance, similar substance). This debate was settled in the 4th century and Arianism (heteroousianism) was rejected

Homoousianism - god the father is of the same substance as Christ, is the most prevalent vision nowadays, which means that christ is purely divine and not human

  • Putin only exists because Russians resent the west after having been sidelined despite foregoing communism (which Gorbachev did in the hope that Russia would be able to join, and benefit from trade with, the liberal bloc)

If you think they’ll resent Putin and not the west for every minor (and some major) annoyance brought by sanctions, you are ignoring decades of policies done in the same spirit and resulting in the exact opposite of the intended effect. All this does is demonstrate to the Russians that the west is indeed their enemy, and thereby reinforce Putin and the likes of him.

All sanctions do is target innocents and reinforce whatever government the US is supposedly targeting. See literally every single country sanctioned by the US.

  • Everyone has a VPN or can use proxies extremely easily nowadays, especially in Russia. Literally all this does is creating a precedent of a parts manufacturer (““manufacturer”” in the case of nvidia), and y’all are cheering because “fuck russians”.

All this does is creating this bad precedent while accomplishing exactly nothing

  • No. The Souls community is built over the shared experience of beating the challenging game we were put against. If difficulty was optional, the game wouldn’t be nearly as popular, as there wouldn’t be that common experience.

Maybe another shared experience would have allowed the game to garner a community, but then it wouldn’t be a soulslike, and soulslike as a concept would not exist. If that’s something that interests you, you can just play a game which isn’t a soulslike.

It reminds me of some Redditor who said they always instantly killed every single named companion in BG3 because they found the dialogues of said companions annoying. I have played BG3 for hundred of hours, but I don’t even think I played the same game as this person, and I think that if it was something a lot of people did, then there wouldn’t be a community around the game at all.

Like for BG3, where the central point is the story and the evolution of your companion as characters, Elden Ring’s has that defining element which caused the community to sprout, which is its fair but strict gameplay. If you remove that then all you get is one of those forgettable Ubisoft games, all the while completely destroying the community around soulslikes.
